MONDAY, April 22nd (Earth Day): 

Wear Blue or Green - to help us celebrate Earth Day!��♻️

Earth Day Assembly @ 8am - To kick off Green Week, our Green Team will be talking about the importance of taking care of our planet.

Make an Earth Day Pledge - Students will decorate and fill out a goal to support for Earth Day during their lunch time. (Example: Pick up trash, use less water - shorter shower; use less power - less time on screens; recycle paper; plant a tree; reduce use of single use plastics)  Pledges will be displayed on our Earth Day Celebration Banner. 

TUESDAY, April 23rd: 

Zero Trash Tuesday - Please help your child pack a lunch with all REUSABLE items with no trash going into the landfill.  Some suggestions are reusable lunch sacks, water bottles, napkins, containers, baggies, etc.  Students who show no trash to the Green Team Volunteers will be given a "Caught Being Green" ticket that can be entered in a raffle.  

WEDNESDAY, April 24th (NO SCHOOL):

Take A Walk Wednesday - Cut back on pollution and enjoy the beauty and wonder of nature by taking a walk with your family or friends.  Email a picture or video to our Green Team gmail ([email protected]) to be featured on our website and Year in Review video.  

THURSDAY, April 25th: 

"Try It, You'll Like It" - On Thursday at lunch/recess students will be given the opportunity to visit our “Try it, you’ll like it” table at the garden to taste something new and take a vote if it was a thumbs up or a thumbs down for them. Tasting may include an Exotic fruit, or interesting vegetable, or possibly something grown straight from our Topeka Garden.

FRIDAY, April 26th (Minimum Day: 

Beautification Day from 12:30pm - 3:30pm - Help clean up Topeka Drive Elementary!  The whole family is invited for an event of community service to our school.  Don't forget your tools, gloves, water, a paper or plastic bag to gather trash and weeds and sunscreen.  Parents, you do not have to be an approved volunteer to participate.  We hope you will all join us!

***All students who participate in a Green Week activity will be eligible to earn a "Caught Being Green" ticket which will be placed in a bin for raffle drawing at our beautification event on Friday.
